Winner of NaNoWriMo 2012

Of course I'm not the winner of NaNoWriMo 2012, I'm a winner. If you don't know what NaNoWriMo is, I'll tell you. If you do, skip ahead a bit or refresh your memory. Either works.
NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writing Month. You basically write a novel in one month. It happens every year in November. Now you may wonder what kind of novel (any kind), or how long it has to be (you decide, my goal was 50,000 words).  I wrote 55,925 words.
You get a badge on Figment (www.Figment.com) for doing NaNoWriMo and if you win you get a prize too. The prize is a secletion of badges for your website (look on my left sidebar for mine), a certificate, and a code to publish five books for free. I find out what the code is sometime in December.
Now to some people it's just not worth doing. The prizes aren't that cool if you aren't a writer (but even some writers might not like it), it's an entire month of hard work, and what does it get you? Hmm?
I'm happy I did it. I wanted to last year but only found out about it halfway through the month and I didn't think I'd be able to finish in time if I started. I should've done it and set a lower goal but what the heck. I did it this year and I'm happy with it. I'll be doing it again next year I suppose. It's not the prize that matters, it's the challenege of aquiring the prize.
Anyway, here's my awesome badge for winning below:

My cover for my NaNoWriMo story:

And a random NaNoWriMo badge:

And if you're interested to see a bit of my NaNoWriMo here's the link for that (I think you may have to have an account to see it though, I'm not sure): http://ywp.nanowrimo.org/user/884191

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

AH! Yes! But we have to wait sooo long!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

**************SPOILER ALERT*****************

I absolutely loved it of course! But I hate the ending! It just makes you want to read more, and of course you're going to have to wait for the next book. And Chase... why? Why Chase?I could've handles Maddy or someone else, but Chase? SO UNFAIR! I had to put the book down for two hours to clear my head so I didn't bunch a hole through the wall or something. Actually, I'd probably just break my hand, knowing me. I wonder how the next book will play out. With Bryn changed and everything... I am dying to know. And I don't want her to fall in love with someone else. But I also don't want her to be alone. I want her to find someway to bring Chase back from the dead or something, though I find that's unlikely to happen. Boo-hoo :(

Oh my god I loved this book. I was just at the bookstore, not really planning to buy anything and I saw this book and was like! Ahhhhh! I loved the first one when it came out and didn't know there was going to be a second. So it took me completely by surprise. And I spent my entire allowance on it, so you can tell I wanted to read it. Ah, and I was going to use the money for a mint chocolate ice cream milkshake.

Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini

Starcrossed (Starcrossed, #1)Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Okay, so I picked this book up from the library randomly when I was stranded at school after my exams, and I thought it was okay. Then I didn't touch it for a week because my books had come in the mail and I wanted to read those more than this one. I wasn't at an interesting point and didn't really care what was about to happen.

Then I got really bored either yesterday or the day before and I began to read it again. I cannot believe I put the book down! This book was so intense! It was original, beautiful, and well written. I just kept on reading.

I feel really bad for Helen and Lucas though. I mean, the mother said that Helen actually wasn't Ajax's kid when Pandora had her in chains. But then she called Helen the House of Thebes cousin in front of a truthseeker.

So I'm assuming that she means cousin the same way people with religious views say that everyone is their brother and sister. Because she wouldn't be lying if that was the case. But if she is lying, why is she lying? What's the point in hurting Helen that way?

I guess I'm just going to have to wait for Dreamless to come out. I am so going to devour that book!

The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax by Dorothy Gilman

The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax (Mrs. Pollifax #1)The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax by Dorothy Gilman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When you think of spies I imagine James Bond comes to mind, yes? How about a sixty-year-old woman who kicks butt in the most wity way imaginable? Sound like your cup of tea? It definitely sounded good to me.
My grandmother recommended this book to me, and usually the books she recommends are a little wordy for my taste, but this was a hilarious, thrilling read that I enjoyed very much. It's not what I expected, but then again--the title is 'The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax' so I think that's kind of the point.
Mrs. Pollifax is an old woman who is bored of life and has nothing to do with her time left. So she goes to Washington D.C. and then travels to Langley, Virginia, to the CIA. She offers to become a spy. It's so unheard of, and yet she ends up as a courier to pick up a package in Mexico City. Such a simple job, yet everything goes terribly wrong.
Mrs. Pollifax is abducted and taken to Albania where she befriends Mr. Farrel while trying to escape her certain death if she stays. It is a thrilling adventure and I hated to put the book down.
It is a light, quick, read, but it is so good you hardly notice it's short length. And there are more books to follow, so what's the rush?

The Angel Experiment by James Patterson

The Angel Experiment (Maximum Ride, #1)The Angel Experiment by James Patterson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

For this series, I had to say I loved it. If you're looking for a series with fancy literature and formal settings this series is NOT for you. However, if you're looking for funny, sarcastic shennanigans in a bunch of books, this is what your looking for. It's fast and well set, you won't want to put the books down.

My friends would call this 'crap literature' because it doesn't focuse so much on the words as to the wording. It's a funny series, it's not dramatic or slow, it's 'this-is-an-adventure-and-is-fast-paced-and-will-not-slow-down-if-you-want-something-slower-and-more-realistic-find-your-grampa.' But I personally loved it!

Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz

Blue Bloods (Blue Bloods, #1)Blue Bloods by Melissa de la Cruz
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I honestly think this is one of the best vampire books I have ever read. A friend of mine recommended it to me, se's one of the only people I know in person who reads the same genre as me and feels extremely passionate about the same sorts of books.

This book is unique in a way that the origin of the vampires is different, and the vampires themselves have a different name. The conflict within the story is complicated, because you're paying attention to various conflicts at once.

This is, I believe, in third person limited, though I ma be wrong. It's confusing because you see into different characters minds at different points in the story and you don't really get much of a warning in it.

But I do like this story very much, even if it's not my favorite book, I think it's a very good book and I recommend it to all fantasy lovers and YA adicts. I can promise you that this one will not cliché with other vampire books. Or at least, none that I have read.

oh my god... I have no words that are adequate enough to describe hw awesomely epic this book is. I think it may be my favorite. Either this one, or Zero Moment. I'm not going to reveal any spoilers yet, since the book technically is released on the fifth... I just got lucky getting my brother to pick me up a copy. I'm soooo psyched about it. It's amazing and has a totally unexpected ending!

Invisible City by M.G. Harris

Invisible City (The Joshua Files, #1)Invisible City by M.G. Harris
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In M.G. Harris's first installment of the Joshua Files series, 'Invisible City' sets off a good precedent. A thirteen year-old boy names Joshua, or Josh as his friends call him, investigates the disappearance of his father. The police report said that Josh's dad had been killed when his plane crashed, but Josh thinks otherwise.

Josh delves into the mystery of his father’s disappearance and experiences several pulse-pounding and heart-stopping adventures as he comes to terms with the truth and reality of everything that happened.

I've always loved mythology and science fiction, things of the surreal, and Invisible City completes my craving for that particular hunger and interest in books. I love a good adventure, and I feel that MG Harris has made that possible with this book.

This is different from the books and movies I've read about Mayan tomb raiders, as I had first suspected it to be, and more into a world where the impossible is inevitable.

This is one of my favorite series of books, but it was not too difficult nor too easy to read, and the vivid imagery the story created was enough to satisfy any person's imagination. The story was fueled with gut-wrenching anxiety and anticipation for what was to come. With every new page I couldn't wait for the next intense adventure to appear, and to find the outcome of the book.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good adventure story with some odd twists and turns that will leave you ecstatic and waiting for more.

Plague by Michael Grant

Plague (Gone, #4)Plague by Michael Grant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Okay first off: Diana's pregnant? Did she learn nothing in Sex Ed about birth control?

Second: Is Little Pete actually dead, or did he just go poof?

Third: Will they ever get out of the FAYZ?

So I'm a total idiot for not reading this book like a year ago when it actually came out. My parents had limited me to how many books I could buy. My friends always complain that I am not a normal human being, prefering the company of books rather than actual living people.

Eh, I think I may be in love with a few fictional characters. But hey? We all have our own imaginary friends. Mine are just inspired by various author's imaginations. I least I know that if I am ever locked in a padded cell I will never be lonely with my books. That's if I'm allowed them. If not I'll talk to my imaginary firends.

So this book was awesome, like all of the other ones before it. I finished it in two days flat. I've would've finished it in one, but unfortunately I'm required to go to this mandatory thing called 'school.' Oh, and you'd never guess what I have to do there. I actually have to learn. Not like I haven't tried hiding books in my textbooks or under the desk.

I can't say that I have ever read any books quite like these. They have all of the supernatural coolness like in X-Men, but the lovely teenagerness that comes with teenagers, and a heck of a lot of disturbing horror stuff.

I don't know if this book would be counted as a thriller or horror because I try to stay away from books like that. They just aren't my appetite when it comes to books. And I wouldn't call these books paranormal romance, which is what I usually like to read.

But I don't care what labels you put on these books. They are graphic, horrifying, disturbing in every way imaginable, creative, inspirational, totally awesome, and they make you think about what you would do if you were put into that situation.

So of course I love these books. :D

Passion by Lauren Kate

Passion (Fallen, #3)Passion by Lauren Kate
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I would recommend ‘Passion’ by Lauren Kate to teenage girls, or people who enjoy a nice YA romance that involves time travel and love at its strongest. I think that this book is brilliantly written and that it captures love in its most divine form. ‘Passion’ is exactly what the reader feels when they read the epic tale of a true love story, making this book stand out among others.

In ‘Passion’ Lauren Kate writes about a fictional teenage girl named Luce. Luce travels back through time to watch the romances of her past lives with Daniel, the immortal fallen angel who happens to be the love of her life, or rather, lives. Luce watches again and again as her past lives die for Daniel, who is helpless to stop the curse forced upon them. Luce must find a way to break the curse, and she believes that the answer lies somewhere in the past—but she could destroy the future with the smallest action.

The characters in ‘Passion’ are well thought out and easily believable. Although empathy is impossible in the surreal world Lauren Kate has created, the intriguing style with engaging characters makes this a must read.

There is a wealth of teen romance genre books available to choose from. ‘Passion’ sets itself apart with an engaging, quick moving plot, believable characters, and many interesting twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new definition of love.

Wolsbane by Andrea Cremer

Wolfsbane (Nightshade, #2)Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Okay, this trilogy is AMAZING! And this book is great! The first book enticed the reader to read on, but Wolfsbane captivates the readers in an alluring trap of cliff-hangers and drama. This is the best books for a W.R.H.R. (Well Read Hopeless Romantic)

The Nightshade Trilogy is extremely different from werewolf books, and I'm sure others would agree that it should never be even mention in that category of reading. It does these books no justice. These are more than just books with magic and shape-shifters.

Epic battles, true love, and the war between the Keepers and Searches holds the reader on edge. You will never put the book down. Not to eat, sleep, bathe, or do anything besides READ. Once the story has (sadly) come to an end, then you may deal with your necessities.

I love almost all young adult paranormal romance books, but I only have two favourite series in that genre, and this is one of them. Considering how much I love to read and dream of distant fantasies, I'd say that's pretty good praise. Though I may just think to highly of myself. :D

I have one word for everyone interested in this book.

Firelight by Sophie Jordan

Firelight (Firelight, #1)Firelight by Sophie Jordan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of my favorite books, and it's not just the epic love story that enticed me as a reader to keep reading,it was the abnormal creature choice. These days most people hear of Vampires and Werewolves, not so much of the other. Faeries, Shape-Shifters, Werewolves, Vampires, Fallen Angels, Witches and Wizards, and other paranormals of the nether, they all have nothing on this story.

I think this is the only book I have ever read about draki, though I've heard the name before. This is a unique tale of love and survival; friendship and the hard times you live through to get to the good ones.

Firelight, by Sophie Jordan is a well thought out story with inner turmoil and constant conflicts creating forks in the road and nightmares to come. The love between Jacinda and Will is so palpable and real, it's hard to imagine such perfection without them. The world Jacinda knows, and the world Will knows, are not so different. And the heat that engenders when they collide is not something you want to miss.

This is one of my favorite books and I recomend it to all W.R.H.R. (Well Read Hopeless Romantics)

Enjoy!

Illusions by Aprilynne Pike

Illusions (Wings, #3)Illusions by Aprilynne Pike
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

ohmyfreakingod. Okay, so most faerie books I read are good, and I like them well enough, but this is... I can't describe it, I'm at loss for words. I've always preferred fallen angel stories to most paranormal stories, but recently the tables have turned.

Now I like Draki (from Sophie Jordan's Firelight series), fallen angels (Lauren Kate's Fallen Saga), Guardians [aka werewolves (from Andrea Cremer's Nightshade trilogy)], the water horses[who I don't know how to say their name, let alone spell it (by Maggie Stiefvater, the Scorpio Races)], and the Fae (from Aprilynne [uber cool name btdubs] Pike's Wings series).

So this is definetly my favorite series involving Faeries. It's... beyond words. I never expected it to be so good. I mean, I had an inkling, but I wasn't sure. I can't compliment this book enough, and I would be here all night if I tried to.

So I would suggest all of you people out there read it, even if you don't think it's your kind of book. Most of my books that I read turn out like that. You'll get used to it. This is my favorite book of the Fae, and I can't wait for the next one!

Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer

Bloodrose (Nightshade, #3)Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think I should've read this book before 'Shatter Me' since I read it the day after... well, I guess I didn't appriciate it as much. I knew how it was going to end because I couldn't resist a peek at some of the other peoples reviews (very bad Kacii!).

I did really like, I kind of wished that Ren didn't die because of his sister and because Calla should've given him a fair chance. I really wished they'd had sex, but unfortunately genies only grant so many wishes.

I still think this is an amazing book, along with the other books in the series. One thing I particaularly liked is the ending. I was expecting a cliched ending where everyone lived happily ever after, and since I like to write myself, I understand why she wrote the story she did.

I am a very cruel writer myself, I love to make my readers go crazy and start breaking things (it has happened before) so I don't know if Andrea Cremer taskes pleasure in the readers zig-zagging emotions, or if she wanted her story to end on a unique note. Maybe I'm way off here but unfortunately I don't have the authors phone number so I can't go call her and ask.

I think I prefered the other book covers, though that has nothing to do with the story and you should never judge a book by its cover. Even its title. My grandmothers in a play called 'A Man Who Came to Dinner.' Stupidest name of a play I ever did here. They couldn't have been a little more creative? I mean seriously? But its actually a really funny show. So never judge a book by its cover or its title.

Blood on the Moon by Jennifer Knight

Blood on the Moon (Blood on the Moon, #1)Blood on the Moon by Jennifer Knight
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

See the thing about being sick and stuck at home is that you through a lot of books. I had to order a whole new set because I've read every book in my house and I'm coughing my head off so I can't go to school. I don't like TV all that much so I resort to books.

This book happens to be pretty good, though without a doubt cliched. But thats okay, I like cliched books. Most of the books in my library are cliched vampire and werewolf novels. I mean, there are slight changes with every novel, but they're more or less the same.

I'm interested to know what happens next in this, I checked the authors website and found shes writing a sequel but I don't know any more besides that. The only thing thats uber-ly different with this book from other books is that Faith has this weird thing going on with her.

I'm curious to know if its a supernatural power, or just a fluke or something. I'm betting on supernatural power, because publishers don't publish cliched books that you can see everywhere. I also want to know whats happening to Derek, because a vampire-werewolf hybrid sounds pretty cool.

So even though this was probably the most cliched story I have ever read, I really liked it and want to read the next one. I'm trying my hardest to be an optimist here, but I'm probably the biggest pessimist alive.

Eragon by Christopher Paolini

Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle, #1)Eragon by Christopher Paolini
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hello, who doesn't like dragons? I happen to LOVE dragons. This is an AMZING book. I've been wanting to read it for quite some time but I've never gotten around to it until now. It's different from what I'm used to reading, but that's fine by me. I think this is better than a lot of my favorite books combined. The plotline is extrememly good, and I sort of love the characters.

I actually saw the movie a few years ago, and I've got to say, the book is an infinite number of times better. I like the name Eragon, I think the name Saphira is really pretty, and I like the unusual, unpronounsable names too.

I haven't read the Lord of the Rings books, but I've seen the movies. Are the similarities supposed to be there? It seems as though the books are linked, though the authors are different which I find to be an extradordinary coincidence. Never mind. Even if they're not this books is amazing.

I would reccommend it to everyone. When I first say the book I thought it would have complex language and words I did not know in it.Turns out this is just the right reading level for me. I knew most words, except for one here or there. It's suitable for teenagers and adults alike. The plot keeps you on the edge of your seat and you will fall in love with the characters.

I suggest you don't wait forever like I did and that you start reading this NOW!

The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

The Scorpio RacesThe Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read both the faerie books and the werewolf books by this author, and both are thrilling and a good read, but I think nothing compares to The Scorpio Races.

This book was original, so there was no precedent of what to expect in my mind. I think this is one of my favorite books of all time, even though I only recently finished it and I've only read it once.

When I first heard the story's plotline I didn't think it was a very interesting story. I've never cared for horse books, even though my family own three purebred Arabian mares. I honestly didn't think I'd like it and my eyes swept past it every time I saw it on the shelves at the bookstore.

But recently I've been lacking in reading and I've been quite bored. SO I thought I'd take a gander, and I never have believed in a bad story, so what could happen? I didn't think I'd fall in love with the Twilight Saga either, vampires are so cliched, and yet I did.

This story is so unlike any other story I have ever read. It is compelling and beautifully written. The man-eating-water-horses (not water-eating-man-horses) reminded me of bedtime stories my grandmother told me about creatures of the ocean, and her facination with sea horses.

I think you should at least try to read this book, even if you find you don't like it. If you're not expecting to like this book, all the bestter. I've read a lot of horse books, but their so real and blase that I'm never fully interested in them.

The Scorpio Races, with the man-eating water horses make the book more mythical and magical, full of promise and beauty and all good things books come with. I loved the storyline, I loved the characters, and I definetly think Puck and Sean are a good match, no matter what the other islanders think.

This is one of those books where I hope their will be another book, but I am unsure if the author will keep the story alive for longer. I don't know if there will be a sequel, part of me wants one and part of me doesn't.

If there's a sequel, I want it to keep the perfect image the first book had and not ruin it like Mockingjay and Catching Fire did to the Hunger Games. I would love for Sean and Puck's story to continue, so long as its not ruined (though I would buy the book anyway) and I don't want to cry.

But overall this is one of those books I will re-read just for the joy of experiencing everything again and again.

Good job Maggie, you earned it!

Love YA

I love YA because it's like the air that I breathe. I can't live without it. I read at least two YA books a week. I love to read it, to write it, I love the way I can connect to it. I love the rush of emotions, the teenage dramas, the craziness of everything. YA is everything I am. It fills me up and keeps me sane. I love YA!

But to get the big entries, you need to share the love of YA. It's simple! Make a blog post (or FB note, or whatevs) and let the world know: Why do you love YA? It's November--the month of giving thanks--so let us know why you're thankful for YA. You can write about the genre itself, or about a favorite author, or about a favorite book. It's wide open: just let the world know why you like YA! Also: you absolutely don't have to write about me. This isn't about me--it's about the love of YA. The only requirement is that you also include the above graphic and a link back to the contest.

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsidian (Lux, #1)Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When people mention aliens I think of green slimy creatures from outer space who like to eat flesh and terrorize people. I do not think of super hot super bad ass neighbors who pose at normal teenagers. To say this book took me by surprise is an understatement.
The protagonist of the story is named Katy. She moves to West Virginia from Florida and has to deal with the craziness of a small town and a world of change. I actually like Katy, whereas most female protagonists are too silly to like and I only read the book because of the hot male lover.
Not Katy. She is instantly likable and relatable. How many people who read books like to read? A fair amount, I'm sure. And how many of those people who like to read review books on blogs? Well I am certainly one of those people. And even if you aren't exactly like her (I know I'm not), she's a really nice character that's portrayed very well.
Daemon is... whoa, just... whoa. He starts off as a total jackass and I wouldn't have the control Katy does. I would have slapped him immediately. Yes he has this big secret... but really? Do you have to be so mean? I probably wouldn't have ever liked him with his horrid attitude if I didn't understand the why part of it.
That's the thing; you shouldn't judge any people (or fictional characters) unless you know their reasoning behind their actions. Since I understood his reasoning's, I ended up liking him. I mean, if it was my families life versus a friendship, I'd choose keeping them alive too. I gotta hand it to Katy, she's a lot stronger than I am with putting up with people's crap.
But you also see it from Katy's point of view in the matter. To be humiliated like that in front of everyone... dang, that girl has guts. I understand what it's like to be humiliated like that in front of lots of people and I can say that I still hold a grudge, and I didn't retaliate then. Katy isn't a weak girl who needs saving, and I really admire that about her.
So yeah, you can see this book and go 'aliens, eww,' or you can read it and go 'that was the most fudge-bunnies-and-fucktastic-awesome book ever!' Or something like that.

Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1)Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I would recommend 'Hush Hush' by Becca Fitzpatrick to teenage girls or people who enjoy a rollercoaster ride into the Young Adult romance. Someone who likes teasings, flirtings, and little romance from the dark side would most definetly enjoy this book.

In 'Hush Hush' Becca Fitzpatrick writes about a fictional character named Nora Grey. Nora Grey is smart and kind, though a little anti-social when it comes to certain things like boys. Her best friend, Vee, attempts to hook her up with several cute guys over the years. But Nora just isn't interested. Until she meets Patch. Patch is mysterious and highly intriguing, turning Nora's world upside down. She soon finds she can't stay away from the mysterious bad-boy.

The characters in 'Hush Hush' are well thought out and believable. Becca Fitzpatrick writes the characters in their own skins, in different personalities. Nora is thoughtful yet reserved, but she is well created. Vee is ready to through herself at any cute guy, and Patch is left to be the cocky mysterious hot bad boy every girl wishes they had.

There is a wealth of teen romance genre books available to choose from. ‘Hush Hush’ sets itself apart with an engaging, quick moving plot, believable characters, and many interesting twists and turns. This is one of my favourite books and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mysterious encounter with love.

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh.My.Freaking.Holy.Jesus.God. This has to be the best book I have ever read, and I've read quite a few books. This was so different than I expected it to be. It was amazing. Awesome. Epic. {through in uber-cool adjectives here}

I mean, I knew that I would probably like, especially considering it sounded a lot like X-Men and my favorite character in X-Men is Rogue. But this was a dystopian novel, and those I usually don't dig. But I truly loved it.

Before this my favorite book/series in the whole wide world was the Hush, Hush Saga, because like every other girl I absolutely adored Patch. But this is even better. Probably because of the soldiers. I've always imagined myself falling in love with a soldier, mainly because growing up overseas your parents either work for the military or D.O.D. (Department of Defense)

But the way the author wrote the book, like with the whole crossing-the-words-out and such, its relatable to how I think sometimes. Though my personal dilemmas aren't nearly as drastic as killing a person with a simple touch of my hand. And I've never been in an asylum, and I'm not sure I ever want to be.

I guess this book is my new favorite because it's relatable, in a weird way. I mean, I don't have any supernatural/paranormal powers, I haven't fallen in love yet, and I don't really worry about food shortages where I live.

But it goes back to the whole soldier thing. Most of my friends have parents in either the army, air force, navy, or marines. So the soldier thing is understandable. And honestly, since I'm such a paranormal geek I love the idea of having powers and standing out from other people, though it would really suck not being able to touch anyone.

And the falling in love thing. I'm probably way to young to fall in love, but its something I've always yearned for since I began reading young adult paranormal romance novels. I suppose its naive to think things like that, but you have to feel it to understand it. You can't really explain it. That's why I like this book. It relatable in a totally unrelateable way, sort of like an oxymoron.

I read on the author's website that the books been out since November and already she's sold the movie rights. That's pretty impressive from my perspective, I've read some pretty amazing books that have been out for years and have not once gotten their movie rights sold.

I suggest you read it, if your into paranormal dystopian romance novels. Or even if your not, its pretty surprising how good it is. I'd say it definitely rivals my other favorite books. :D

(This review I wrote last year December time. I think I'm going to write other reviews in a more professional style, though I may stick to this. This review came straight from my Goodreads review. Please ignore any mispelled words. Spelling is not my forte)

First Post

Hi, my name is K.K. Cook but I go by Kacii. I'm starting this blog to write book reviews. In no way are these professional reviews. I just want to recommend and share what I've been reading and what I think. It's sort of... recreational, a project, of a sort, for me.
Obviously I've read tons of books and enjoy reading. I don't know how often I'm going to review books since I don't have much free time nowadays, but I'll make it work and figure something out. At the very least I'll update once a week.
You can always check me out on Goodreads too. I'll get working on a new book to read right away!
