Oh.My.God. This is so freaking HOT! I need a fan, people.

my body is ready

I can't tell you a lot about this book, because it would be giving away too many spoilers. You need to read the first book. And then you need to read this one and you'll go cra-zy. So Instead of telling you the awesome things about the book I'll give you some GIF's to show you how I feel about the book.

greetings

The only part I don't like is when Olivia feels the need to prove to her mother that she's her own person and end up in deep shit. Seriously, girl, how stupid are you? Does your mother's opinion of you rate higher than your life?

oh brother

But besides that this book is HOT (did I mention it's super hot?):

Frustrating:

jealousy

Shocking:

Fangirling

And AWESOME!

Synopsis:

Happily ever after doesn’t come easy. But for love, it’s always worth the fight.

Olivia finds bliss unlike any she’s ever known in Cash’s arms. He sets her skin on fire and melts her heart right inside her chest. Unfortunately, their happily ever after is short-lived when a shadow from Cash’s past threatens to turn their world upside down.

Dangerous people from his father’s world have discovered that Cash holds information that could put them away for a very long time. And they’re willing to do anything—and hurt anybody—to get it back. Giving it up means Cash must choose between the life of his father and the life of Olivia.

Having nearly overcome her wariness of bad boys, Olivia’s trust is shaken when this new threat arises. Now she finds that Cash is not only a danger to her heart, but his family has associations that are a danger to her life as well. She soon discovers that there are some situations in life where trust is a girl’s only option. And this is one of them. If she’s to live, she must trust Cash with her life. But to Olivia, that’s much, much easier than letting go and trusting him with her heart.

Waiting on Wednesday #2

Hey everyone! This is my second Waiting on Wednesday meme post!

wow4copy photo wow4copy_zps31f7081b.jpg
"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here but started @ Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi - Tuesday February 5th 2013

I have been waiting for this book all year and the release date is just around the corner. If you haven't read Shatter Me, then you're really missing out. This is the second book in the Shatter Me series? Trilogy? I'm not sure and Goodreads doesn't say, but for now only three books have been confirmed for publishing and one novella called Destroy Me. And of course this new book is called Unravel Me. You have to read it. The entire writing style is worth checking out, if not for the awesome story itself. It's a bit like a dystopian version of X-Men. And the main character is similar to Rogue, except her touch kills. So a little bit different from Rogue. Just a little.

Synopsis:

tick, tick, tick, tick, tick
it's almost
time for war.

Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.

She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.

Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam's life.

To get this book you really have to read the one before it. I hope you guys do, because I can assure you that you'll love it! I already know I'm going to love this book. And hopefully I'll breeze on through these latest review so I can buy this book and review it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Jodi Meadows Interview

Hey everyone! How's it been? You had a cover reveal and giveaway yesterday, and now to celebrate the release of Asunder, book two in the Newsoul trilogy by Jodi Meadows I've managed to get an interview with the awesome author herself! That was a terrible run-on sentence, wasn't it? Ah, what the hell. Never mind.
The first book in the Newsoul trilogy is called Incarnate. Isn't the cover beautiful?
Incarnate (Newsoul, #1)

Synopsis:

New soul

Ana is new. For thousands of years in Range, a million souls have been reincarnated over and over, keeping their memories and experiences from previous lifetimes. When Ana was born, another soul vanished, and no one knows why.

No soul

Even Ana's own mother thinks she's a nosoul, an omen of worse things to come, and has kept her away from society. To escape her seclusion and learn whether she'll be reincarnated, Ana travels to the city of Heart, but its citizens are afraid of what her presence means. When dragons and sylph attack the city, is Ana to blame?

Heart

Sam believes Ana's new soul is good and worthwhile. When he stands up for her, their relationship blooms. But can he love someone who may live only once, and will Ana's enemies—human and creature alike—let them be together? Ana needs to uncover the mistake that gave her someone else's life, but will her quest threaten the peace of Heart and destroy the promise of reincarnation for all?

Jodi Meadows expertly weaves soul-deep romance, fantasy, and danger into an extraordinary tale of new life

It's a great book. Definitely worth checking out. And here is the book that comes out today:

Asunder (Newsoul, #2)

Synopsis:

DARKSOULS
Ana has always been the only one. Asunder. Apart. But after Templedark, when many residents of Heart were lost forever, some hold Ana responsible for the darksouls–and the newsouls who may be born in their place.

SHADOWS
Many are afraid of Ana’s presence, a constant reminder of unstoppable changes and the unknown. When sylph begin behaving differently toward her and people turn violent, Ana must learn to stand up not only for herself but for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

LOVE
Ana was told that nosouls can’t love. But newsouls? More than anything, she wants to live and love as an equal among the citizens of Heart, but even when Sam professes his deepest feelings, it seems impossible to overcome a lifetime of rejection.

In this second book in the Incarnate trilogy, Ana discovers the truth about reincarnation and will have to find a way to embrace love and make her young life meaningful. Once again, Jodi Meadows explores the extraordinary beauty and shadowed depths of the soul in a story equal parts epic romance and captivating fantasy.

About Jodi (from her website)

Jodi picture

The official stuff:
Jodi Meadows lives and writes in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, with her husband, a Kippy*, and an alarming number of ferrets. She is a confessed book addict, and has wanted to be a writer ever since she decided against becoming an astronaut.
*A Kippy is a cat.

The unofficial stuff:
Like many writers, I’ve always wanted to do this professionally. You know, after I decided against being an astronaut.
Unlike many writers, I didn’t skip straight from picture books to adult novels. I have fond memories of going to Bookstop every month for the latest Baby-Sitters Club (which I kept reading, even after I realized they were never going to let the paranormal elements be real), and even fonder memories of hanging out in my middle school library. The librarians probably knew exactly what they were doing when they suggested book after book and discussed them with me at length. I, of course, had no clue they were turning me into a book addict, but it worked out for the best. Once I found the books where magic and other fantastic elements were real, I was hooked.
When I was twenty, I met a boy, moved 1,500 miles, and married him all within six months. I now realize that was crazy and dangerous, but it seemed natural at the time and, again, worked out for the best. Not only did we stay madly in love, he worked full time at a hard job so I could stay home to write books and, hopefully, one day get published.

The other crazy thing we did was fall in love with ferrets. They have their own bedroom.
My hobbies, aside from spending all my money on books and Kippy/ferret treats, revolve around yarn. I love crocheting, knitting, and spinning. In addition to several hand spindles, I share my living room with a spinning wheel named Bob.
Every Sunday I blog about spinning and other yarn things here. Ferret pictures can be found here.

Now that my lovely blog readers was taken from Jodi's website which you can get to by clicking here. And now, for the awesome interview!

I guess we should start with one of the more common, generic questions and then work up from there. What inspired you to write Incarnate and Asunder?
I had a near-death experience after being gutted by a unicorn. Of course, the great paradox of that is that unicorn horns heal, which is why it was only a near death experience. Anyway, there was a hallucination/revelation. You know the drill.

That answer may be a lie.

A lot of books have hidden meanings in them. Is there a message in your novels that you want readers to grasp?
Yes, absolutely! You can find the hidden message in INCARNATE by reading it backwards, much like listening to a Beatles record backwards. The message says "Ferrets are awesome!"

That also might be a lie. Gosh, will I ever be truthful with you??

What is your favorite thing(s) about writing?
One of my favorite things about writing is also one of my favorite things about reading. I get to live another life from the safety of my sofa or bed or wherever. I get to meet new people without leaving my house. I get to have adventures and experiences and hundreds of lives!
And there's not even anything shady about it.

Do you have a favorite character? If so, who?
In INCARNATE and ASUNDER? Hmm, no, I don't think so. I'm quite attached to all of them. Ana and Sam, of course, rank at the top. They each think I should pick the other as my favorite.

The covers for your books are gorgeous, who designed them?
Thank you! I think they're amazing too.
The photographer is Gustavo Marx at Merge Left Reps, Inc. I only know that the model's name is Susan and she is gorgeous. And the covers themselves were designed by the spectacular Joel Tippie at HarperCollins.

How long have you been writing?
I've been telling stories my whole life, but I only realized writing could be a job when I was in 7th grade. So that's... what? Eleven? Twelve years old? I started writing seriously when I was twenty. Let's not talk about how long it's been since then.

Any new projects in the future?
I certainly have more projects to write! I can't say anything about them yet, except they've been going by code names: Sparkle Story (which does have sparkles), and Broadway Story (which has zero musical theater).

I know all of your fans were going crazy during Incarnate, wondering what was going to happen to Ana. She seems to have a lot of haters. Do you ever feel sorry for Ana, or are you one of those authors who loves messing with your characters?
Oh I absolutely feel bad for my characters. I want them to be happy! It's just, interesting stories have conflict.

Okay, okay, and I confess that the following conversation happened in October 2012:

Editor: Does Bad Thing have to happen to Sam?
Me: Hmm. I think something bad needs to happen, but maybe it doesn't have to be quite so bad. I can tone down this particular Bad Thing because it's not the most important bad thing ever.
Editor: Poor Sam. I feel so bad for him.
Me: Besides, I just like hurting him.
Editor, aka the Nicest Person In The World: O____O

The world you've created in your books is so magical; it feels lie it's coming off the pages and is so real it's almost tangible. I'm sure aspiring writers would love to know your secret. How do you do it?
Ooo, that's good to hear!
It's not a secret! It's lots of practice. It's lots of practice. It's in a few well-chosen tactile and active details that give the reader a vivid picture of things beyond those few things being described.

Have an example. You have a character walking into a room. You can say it's long and rectangular and has a big table that's set with twenty places. You can say there are crystal chandeliers and heavy carpets and black-suited men holding trays. The chairs are comfortable.

Or you can describe the way your character's feet sink into the carpet as they enter a formal dining chamber, resplendent in the royal colors of red and silver. Candles flicker in the dripping tiers of chandeliers. Spotless footmen wait in another corridor, bearing silver-covered trays. The chairs creak (or don't!) when the character sits.

That's a spur-of-the-moment example, but note the differences: One we're told about the heavy carpets. Another we feel the character sinking. One describes all the furniture and place-settings. Pointlessly. The other we get a description most of us can fill in easily (grand dining chamber) with a major detail (colors) to complete the quick sketch. (Later, we can note if the plates are china or crystal and whether the silverware is real silver -- all that.) One describes what the men are wearing and doing. The other just says it -- they're footmen waiting to serve dinner.

Notice the verbs, too. Enter. Sinking. Flicker. Dripping. Bearing. Creak. Those give you the sensation of movement and they're fifty times more interesting than walking, holding, or no verbs at all.

We readers always love a happy ending, but I have an inkling that Ana and Sam are going to have some challenges ahead of them. Can you give us a hint? Will we want to bawl our eyes out and stomp our feet and have a tantrum?
Bad things happen. Really bad things. And then things get worse. But some good things happen too.

Bust so far many have cried at ASUNDER. And IN3 is seeing similar results. So have a tissue handy.

So there you have it people. I think Jodi's answers were some of the best I've ever received from an interview. Especially about the aspiring writers. If you plan on reading Asunder (which I highly recommend), then have a tissue ready too. I'm crossing my fingers that I won't want to maim anyone after reading Asunder. The chances seem high.

Bad RepBad Rep by A. Meredith Walters
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
didn't like it it was ok (my current rating) liked it really liked it it was amazing

You know, I thought I'd really like this book. But I couldn't even finish it. The book drove me nuts. I mean, the only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of one is because the way Maysie feels when the other girls act like bitches to her. She totally deserved it for screwing around with another girl's boyfriend behind her back, but still. The way she felt was believable.

I'm not even going to sum the book up. It's a cheating book, and I hate those. So if you want a summery you'll have to go and read the blurb. I feel really sick from the book and I'd rather keep this as short as possible.

I didn't think that the girl would actually make a play for the guy while he still had a boyfriend. And if you're reading this review after having read the book and you go 'hang on, he chased her,' well I'm going to say this: It takes two to tango, buddy. And maybe guys in real life just don't have a strong connection with me, I don't know, but I've never found a guy that I'd give into kissing while he had a girlfriend. Never ever ever ever. I'm just not that girl.

So Maysie cheats with this guy, and then she's moping around about her life and how tragic it is. Come on. That's pathetic. It was her fault, and yes, we're all human and we all make mistakes. But instead of hanging her head like a kicked puppy in shame she should've gone out with a bang, head held high. You make a mistake, live up to it.

I also found something that wasn't fair at all with this book. The guy who actually heats on his girlfriend doesn't get any shit whatsoever. Shouldn't the cheater get some crap thrown at them? I mean, I couldn't finish the book, I stopped at 78% of the way through, but unless he got shit after that, he was treated just as he had been before for the most part. Totally unfair.

I think I've made my point. Bad Rep, is just not my book. In my mind, it's a bad book.

Synopsis:

"Who gives a damn about their reputation? Oh, that would be me! Especially since mine had gone straight to hell in the span of thirty minutes".

Maysie Ardin is soaking up the summer before her junior year of college, shopping, hanging by the pool and shopping some more. But when her black belt in spending lands her in trouble with her parents, she is forced to take a second job at a local bar to dig herself out of a deep financial pit.

She thought she’d be miserable. But then Maysie didn’t count on Jordan Levitt, the hot, pierced and tattooed, drum playing bartender who also happens to be very interested in her. And the feelings are totally mutual.

It had the makings of the perfect romantic set up. Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Boy has girlfriend? Okay, maybe not.

But attraction is a hard thing to ignore and soon Jordan and Maysie find themselves in the middle of a gossip induced firestorm. Maysie has to learn whether she can set aside her fear of public disapproval in order to be with the one she wants. Or will she let the opinions of others dictate her life and her heart?

Stacking the Shelves #1

Wahoo! My second ever meme. My first meme for Stacking the Shelves. Speaking of, does anyone know how meme is pronounced? My friend told me it was pronounced MEM. I thought it was pronounced MEH-MEH, which, BTW is the Turkish word for a girl's rack. Though I think it's spelled differently. My mom thinks it's pronounced MEE-MEE. So anyone know how it's pronounced? I'd really love to know. But I'll be calling it a MEH-MEH even if it's pronounced MEM or MEE-MEE. MEH-MEH sounds cooler. Like French or something.
STSmall

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. If you’re anything like me, you are probably hoarding books and even though you are excited about your latest book arrival, it might be a while before you get to review it. And this I'll be doing every Saturday. Just so you know it started over @ Tynga's Reviews.

The Edge of Never by J.A. Rederski

So I just bought this a couple of days ago and it sounds really good. Hopefully I'll find time soon to read it, but I've got a HUGE pile of books (both virtual and tangible) that need to be read. So we'll see where that goes.

Synopsis:

Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.

Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind.

With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.

But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew’s dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?

Summon by Penelope Fletcher

Okay, so technically I'm reading this at the moment. But this is one of those books that takes a while to get into and I get bored really fast so I keep putting it down and finishing faster, lighter reads which aren't nearly as good. I'm hoping to strong-arm myself into getting back to this. I hate when I do this and book a book done. It totally kills the book for me. This also happens to be the fourth book in the Rae Wilder series. Good books. But their complex, and you can't be a twitchy ADHD reader with them. You have to get into it and then they'll rock your world.

Synopsis:

Breandan is a godling doing godless things. For the one he loves, he is prepared to destroy the balance of nature. His beloved Rae has passed into the Otherworld, and he's determined to bring her back, no matter the consequence. Blood sacrifice is not the only cost for summoning a divine spirit to mortal form. The Loa are desperate to return to the realm of the living, and with Cael bitter in defeat, he considers an alliance even his coven cannot hope to control. Lochlann is conflicted. Blood tied to a vampire, his Wyld is in turmoil, yet he struggles to focus on anything but Daphne. Goblins enroach on fairy borders and swarm over shifter territory. Proud, the new Pack Alpha remains reluctant to bind his kind to the fairies who betrayed them, regardless of his claim on the new High Priestess. Can the creatures of the forests coexist as they did so long ago? Family. Honour. Love. There comes a time when all dreaming ends.

Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor

Okay, so this is another book I'm supposed to be reading. It just takes a while to get into it. And I will. Eventually. But right now I'm being a total cucumber and laying around chillin'. Bad, bad cucumber. This is the second book in the Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy. They have epic covers, if you didn't already notice.

Synopsis:

Once upon a time, an angel and a devil fell in love and dared to imagine a world free of bloodshed and war.

This is not that world.

Art student and monster's apprentice Karou finally has the answers she has always sought. She knows who she is—and what she is. But with this knowledge comes another truth she would give anything to undo: She loved the enemy and he betrayed her, and a world suffered for it.

In this stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed Daughter of Smoke & Bone, Karou must decide how far she'll go to avenge her people. Filled with heartbreak and beauty, secrets and impossible choices, Days of Blood & Starlight finds Karou and Akiva on opposing sides as an age-old war stirs back to life.

While Karou and her allies build a monstrous army in a land of dust and starlight, Akiva wages a different sort of battle: a battle for redemption. For hope.

But can any hope be salvaged from the ashes of their broken dream?

Born at Midnight by C.C. Hunter

I bought this a couple weeks ago and I thought it sounded pretty interesting. It's something on my to-review list. If I can give up contemporary New Adult for a couple of days I can get these other books here read. It's unlikely that will happen, but it's worth a shot. This is the first book in the series.

Synopsis:

Don’t miss this spectacular new series that will steal your heart and haunt your dreams, Welcome to Shadow Falls camp, nestled deep in the woods of a town called Fallen…

One night Kylie Galen finds herself at the wrong party, with the wrong people, and it changes her life forever. Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren’t just “troubled.” Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.

Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason. As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek’s a half-fae who’s determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin’ hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Both Derek and Lucas couldn’t be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.

Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear—Shadow Falls is exactly where she belongs…

Okay people, that is it for Stacking the Shelves for this week. Trust me, I have plenty more books on my shelves that need reading, so I'll be sure to add them to Stacking the Shelves next week.

Thanks for stopping by!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it (my current rating) it was amazing

Oh my god! Totally unexpected twist. I didn't see it coming until it was suddenly there. Wow. It was shorter than I thought it would be too. Now I'm going to have to buy the second one. Too much suspense at the end there. Not a cliffhanger, but definite suspense.

Olivia is just your average college girl trying to help her father out. She's staying with her cousin who is a total snob. She meets Cash at his club for her friends bachelorette party and she thinks he's the stripper so she takes his shirt off and I would've been totally mortified in her position.

Then she meets Nash, who is Cash's twin and who is dating her cousin the A-hole. Nash is sweet and intelligent whereas Cash is sexy and ohmygod hot.

Awesome read. Loved it.

Synopsis:

The scorching tale of one girl, two brothers and a love triangle…that’s not. Olivia Townsend is nothing special. She’s just a girl working her way through college so she can return home to help her father run his business. She’s determined not to be the second woman in his life to abandon him, even if it means putting her own life on hold. To Olivia, it’s clear what she must do. Plain and simple. Black and white. But clear becomes complicated when she meets Cash and Nash Davenport. They’re brothers. Twins.

Cash is everything she’s always wanted in a guy. He’s a dangerous, sexy bad boy who wants her in his bed at any cost. He turns her insides to mush and, with just one kiss, makes her forget why he’s no good for her. Nash is everything she’s ever needed in a guy. He’s successful, responsible and intensely passionate. But he’s taken. Very taken, by none other than Marissa, Liv’s rich, beautiful cousin. That doesn’t stop Olivia from melting every time he looks at her, though. With just one touch, he makes her forget why they can never be together.

Black and white turns to shades of gray when Olivia discovers the boys are hiding something, something that should make her run as far and as fast as she can. But it’s too late to run. Olivia’s already involved. And in love. With both of them. Both brothers make her heart tremble. Both brothers set her body on fire. She wants them both. And they want her. How will she ever choose between them?

Rule by Jay Crownover

Rule (Rule #1)Rule by Jay Crownover
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
didn't like it it was ok liked it really liked it (my current rating) it was amazing

I was honestly surprised. I have seen some mixed reviews about this book so I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not. I kind of loved it in a way. It was different then I expected it to be, and I think it rocked. Or rather, it 'ruled.' Yeah, I'd never make it as a comedian.

It starts off with one of the two main characters, Shaw, driving Rule to Sunday brunch at Rule's family's house. Rule doesn't get on with his family. His twin brother died and his mother blamed him for it, so it's a little tense at best. Rome, who is Rule's older brother is home from being injured for an IED.

Everything falls apart, and then it fits back together as the story goes on. Rule is surprisingly awesome, and Shaw is a pretty cool chick. One of the conflicts in the story is Shaw's ex-butt head boyfriend is stalking her. Tons of things go up in smoke (none of which I will mention, read the damn book people) but at the end of the day it made one helluva love story.

Did I like this book? Yes, I thought it was awesome. The only problem I really had with the book was the spelling and grammar issues. It needed some serious editing, but if you can get past that there was a spectacular story beneath.

I think I actually sighed at the end. It was a good ending. It was realistic. Things weren't perfect, but they were happy and good, so all was well. I seriously think you guys should read this, and the grammatical errors and spelling errors you can get past.

No I'm not kidding. I mean it. Check it out.

Synopsis:

I had loved Rule Archer since the first moment I ever laid eyes on him. He was everything I shouldn't want and the only person I went out of my way to not try and please. He only saw me as a brat, and an entitled, stuck up princess but worse than that all he saw when he looked at me was his deceased twin's girl. It broke my heart because as much as I had loved Remy Archer there was never anything romantic between us and no matter how hard I tried to convince myself that loving Rule was a terrible idea, my poor heart just wouldn't listen. We tolerated each other, barely and had forged an uneasy alliance until one night I had too much to drink and changed the way we were forever. Suddenly life long secrets were no longer hidden and the one thing I always wanted for myself seemed obtainable as long as I was willing to go through hell to hold onto it.

Shaw Landon was a class act and I had no idea what to do with her. She was tied to my family, tied to the person that was my other half so I tolerated her and her haughty attitude when I didn't have any other choice. What I didn't know was that a short skirt and too many cocktails on her birthday was going to change my outlook on her for the rest of my life. Some people thought I hid behind all my tattoos and piercings, that I tried to distance myself from my dead twin, Shaw saw through it all and wasn't scared of what was underneath. We weren't supposed to be together, weren't supposed to be anything but uncomfortable acquaintances but that all changed in the blink of an eye. Now I had to figure out just how a girl like her and a guy like me were supposed to be in love without destroying each other. Add in her custom made ex and two disapproving sets of parents and the whole situation sounded like it was more trouble then it was worth.

Boundless by Cynthia Hand - Tuesday January 22nd 2013

Boundless actually came out yesterday, but since I'm writing this on Monday it has still yet to come out for me. I'd say that counts. Boundless is the third and last book in the Unearthly trilogy and I can't wait to read it!

Synopsis:

The past few years have held more surprises than part-angel Clara Gardner could ever have anticipated. Yet from the dizzying highs of first love, to the agonizing low of losing someone close to her, the one thing she can no longer deny is that she was never meant to live a normal life.

Since discovering the special role she plays among the other angel-bloods, Clara has been determined to protect Tucker Avery from the evil that follows her . . . even if it means breaking both their hearts. Leaving town seems like the best option, so she’s headed back to California - and so is Christian Prescott, the irresistible boy from the vision that started her on this journey in the first place.

As Clara makes her way in a world that is frighteningly new, she discovers that the fallen angel who attacked her is watching her every move. And he’s not the only one. . . . With the battle against the Black Wings looming, Clara knows she must finally fulfil her destiny. But it won’t come without sacrifices and betrayal.

In the riveting finale of the Unearthly series, Clara must decide her fate once and for all.

Prodigy by Marie Lu - Tuesday January 29th 2013

Prodigy is the second book in the Legend trilogy. It's a dystopia novel of future America. And it rocks! Check out the synopsis for Prodigy below:

Synopsis:

June and Day arrive in Vegas just as the unthinkable happens: the Elector Primo dies, and his son Anden takes his place. With the Republic edging closer to chaos, the two join a group of Patriot rebels eager to help Day rescue his brother and offer passage to the Colonies. They have only one request—June and Day must assassinate the new Elector.

It’s their chance to change the nation, to give voice to a people silenced for too long.

But as June realizes this Elector is nothing like his father, she’s haunted by the choice ahead. What if Anden is a new beginning? What if revolution must be more than loss and vengeance, anger and blood—what if the Patriots are wrong?

In this highly-anticipated sequel, Lu delivers a breathtaking thriller with high stakes and cinematic action.

Asunder by Jodi Meadows - Tuesday January 29th 2013

Asunder is the second book in Newsoul trilogy. The first book was great, and I'm sure this one will be just as good if not better. If you check back here on Tuesday, January 29th (the release date) I'm having an author interview with Jodi Meadows. Her answers to my questions rock, definitely worth checking out.

Synopsis:

Yay! I completed my first meme! How do you think I did? I'd love a comment to know if I totally screwed this up or not. Check back for my next Waiting on Wednesday meme next Wednesday, and on Saturday I'm doing my first Stacking the Shelves meme.
