It was okay. I wasn't amazed by this book or anything. But it wasn't terrible. That seems to be the norm for books these days. Or maybe I'm just getting bored with New Adult.

Lorrie seemed to have won the lottery for the most unlucky person in the world. Her stepfather murdered her mother. And as if that wasn't bad enough, her father committed suicide after the trail was over. Her stepfather was in jail, but the question still remained... why? He was just like any other guy. Why would he kill her mother? Now back at college, Lorrie is faced with the rumors and the looks of pity. No one is ever treating her like a regular person anymore, and she's sick of it. Then one day she trips over a black cat and falls into the frozen river at school. Afraid she's going to die and people will think she committed suicide just like her dad. Lorrie can only hope she makes it.

Hunter is a cage fighter. With a huge secret. He used to be in the Air Force ROTC, but is no longer. He lives off of girls and booze. Fighting is his life... because he doesn't have much of one. But then he see's a girl in the river, flailing about while he was on is morning jog. Time to save a little bit of crazy...

Like I said, it was okay. I think it started out good but then just went to hell. I hated the ending. I think both Lorrie and Hunter screwed up. And then they spent the entire weekend and some classes in bed? Okay, so I get new relationships often have a huge burst of sex, but yikes, I think these two went over the top. But the ending is killer.

It sort of leaves you wanting to read the next book, but not really, because you know how crappy these two characters were in this book. I think I'll skip the next book, since I wasn't too pleased with how this one turned out. And also I don't like series' in New Adult. Unless they feature different characters. I get the impression that this series will continue with these two characters. And I didn't like them enough to want to read them again.

Synopsis:

“There would be no happy ending for us. He was too damaged. I was too broken.”

Two years ago, Lorrie’s mother was murdered. But that wasn’t the end of it. Reeling from the tragedy, Lorrie’s father spiraled into alcohol, depression, and finally suicide.

The two most important people in Lorrie’s life are both gone but she’s still alive.

Trying to recover from the tragedy, Lorrie returns to campus, ready to pick up the pieces of her life. All Lorrie wants is to get back to “normal.”

Then she meets Hunter. The man, the legend, “the Hammer.”

Hunter is a cage fighter who takes on every fight like he’s got nothing to lose. His life is a tangled mess of girls, booze, and fist fights. And while it may seem like he’s got a devil-may-care attitude, he’s fighting a private cage-match with a monster he can’t defeat.

Lorrie knows that Hunter is the exact type of guy she should stay away from, especially in her fragile state, but Hunter has other ideas.

As Hunter and Lorrie grow closer together, will they be able to overcome their pain and heal each other? Or will they both end up wrecked?

And the only one who can help get them out is the one who helped put them there. Finally finding the town that the mysterious doctor is in, he now just has to find the doctor. Until he meets Laney. Laney has a secret. She's been on the run for years now, trying to escape a past and a mistake. Then Matt walks in. He's gorgeous and everything she could ever possibly want… except for a mistake that cost her her friends life.

Ugh, bad paraphrasing of the story, but it'll do. Anyways, a wonderful book. I just found out that there is a first one. I'll have to check it out. I love a good action romance story. One or the other is boring by itself, but together they are awesome.

Loved the book. I wonder if there will be another? I don't know, but I'm off to buy the first one :)

I liked this book so much better than the last one.

Rachel is a Chaser, someone born to hunt down and kill vampires. Until she's turned into one of the things he hates the most. Alex was a Chaser. Two hundred years ago. Now he's a vampire. Together they find themselves... and a love like no other.

Still not a fan of the insta-love. But I did like the story. I was reading it during my math class (okay, I hate math, and I suck at it. But since I'm doing well and would rather read than listen, I said why not). I got all chocked up at the part where Alex kills a guy and Rachel drinks his blood. Okay, so he's already dead, but still! I was not a fan. I think I was drawing weird looks from my classmates when I started whispering under my breath how horrible it was that she had done that.

But you know what? I liked this book. I thought that Rival was okay, but this one was so much better. I am so glad I got a chance to read and review it and I can't wait to see what happens next. And I just found out about the fist book, so I'll probably borrow/buy that as well.

Definitely worth the read! I'd advise reading this book before Rival though. I almost didn't read this one because that book was such a disappointment. And it was short. I don't like short books. This one was pretty good though. And I guess I'll see how the first one turns out to be.

Vampires have become so popular and a little too clichéd for vampire stories to ever really be different. This one is a little. A vampire Chaser family, Emily is just about to turn 18. Her mother wants to have a cotillion. Emily hates dresses. She loves to fight. She wants to be a chaser, just like her dad was, until he got killed by a vampire. Brett has juvenile arthritis. But he doesn't want anyone to know, because he doesn't want them to think that he is weak. He's been in love with Emily since he was 14 and she first threw him down on the mat. But he thinks its time to move on. She obviously interested. But some vampire attacks draw them closer together and with the martial arts competition coming up they turn towards each other rather than apart.

Not a bad book, just not a great one either. I think if vampires hadn't been so overused this would've seemed better to me. As it was it was just okay. I wasn't a fan of the insta-love either. But other than that the book was alright.

I'd say read it if you can't find anything good to read, but probably don't go out of your way for it. Maybe pick it up from the library or borrow from a friend.

Not too shabby.

Brody is a wounded soul, from seeing too much and feeling like he had failed not only himself but his fellow SEALS. Genna has a sheriff for a dad who shares control over her life with her mother. Both feel trapped, and the only ones who can open the door and let themselves out could just be each other...

I think this book is decent. You can feel how lost Brody is, and all you want to do is help. And Genna, you got to feel bad for her. But I also got super mad at her. I would never let anyone control my life. I'd put my foot down on that. And I get she feels guilty since her brother is the troublemaker, but someday you've got to start living your life on your own terms.

I think it was a sweet love story. A good read. Definitely something you can chill out with.

Genna's entire life has been orchestrated by her family. The right job. The right friends. Enough! Brody's return offers the promise of lust-filled pleasures. Of flesh teased and tasted. She's not expecting to find a soldier with distant eyes who has secluded himself from the world. But this good girl knows exactly how to bring a bad boy back to life….

Uniformly Hot! The Few. The Proud. The Sexy as Hell.

Such a sweet romance.

Ethan woos Sarah in a way I have never seen in a book, or in real life. He gives her the respect she deserves, and gives her the space a strong woman needs. But he also protects her and keeps her close. Sara is a medevac pilot and Ethan a SEAL. It's so heartbreakingly sweet.

The only thing I think this book lacked was conflict. There's all kinds of conflict, and without going back to 9th grade English and pointing out the person versus person, person versus self, person versus nature and all of the rest of those, I think I can explain that this book lacked a little person to person conflict. There was some, but I think I would've liked to see more.

I think this book was great. The love was believable, the story was achingly adorable, and the characters were fabulous. Overall an awesome book.

I don't normally feature middle grade books on my blog, even though I've said I'm fine with doing just that. But this book is special. My grandmother wrote it. I published it for her and am currently helping her market it. But I've read it. And I gotta say, its good. And we book bloggers know what we're talking about, right? I'm not saying this because she's my grandmother either.

I have a proposition.

I love when things start like that, don't you? Anyways, any book blogger out there who would be interested in a free copy of Fromage to review will receive one. Just send me a link to your blog and an email asking for a copy. But please, do NOT pirate m grandmothers book. If you look to see what pages I have, you'll notice I have an anti-piracy page. So, no pirating.

Happy reading!
