This book was GOLDEN. It had just enough push and pull to keep me on my toes. I fell in love with the characters and the story they told. I can't wait to see if more stories will come from the other characters in the book. I'll be thinking over this book for weeks to come.
Rory is a girl who still has her virginity in college. And when a gross druggy tries to force her into giving him a blow job, none other Tyler comes to the rescue. Now Rory, she's basically as plain as they come. And Tyler? Badass hottie. Yum.
Tyler has younger brothers to worry about, a druggy mother from hell, and he's just barely scarping by on his EMT program. Not an easy life to live, and he doesn't want to burden Rory with it when they grow close. Tyler's lifestyle begins to threaten Rory's future. But whatever to do?
First of all Rory is the worst name ever for a guy. But for a girl, especially the protagonist of this story, it rocks the world. Don't lie. Your feet trembled under you just now. It just rocked your world. Literally.
If my friends ever hired a guy to have sex with me I'd shit a brick, then show them what I think of that idea. My blood was boiling when I read what happened. What kind of friend does that? I know they had Rory's best interests at heart, but still. It's a BIG deal. I'd go ballistic. Apparently Rory isn't the confrontational type.
This story was great. The characters were interesting and didn't make me fall asleep, that's always a good thing, the plot seemed sound and whole, and the story ended leaving you wanting more but with a closer to the story of these two protagonists. Kudos, Erin McCarthy. Endings can be such a drag and not worth reading, but I really loved this ending. I can't wait for the next book.

Synopsis:
When Rory Macintosh’s roommates find out that their studious and shy friend has never been with a guy, they decide that, as an act of kindness they’ll help her lose her virginity by hiring confident, tattooed bad boy Tyler Mann to do the job…unbeknownst to Rory.
Tyler knows he’s not good enough for Rory. She’s smart, doctor smart, while he’s barely scraping by at his EMT program, hoping to pull his younger brothers out of the hell their druggy mother has left them in. But he can’t resist taking up her roommates on an opportunity to get to know her better. There’s something about her honesty that keeps him coming back when he knows he shouldn’t…
Torn between common sense and desire, the two find themselves caught up in a passionate relationship. But when Tyler’s broken family threatens to destroy his future, and hers, Rory will need to decide whether to cut her ties to his risky world or follow her heart, no matter what the cost…

I enjoyed this book a lot and actually just reviewed it on my own blog. My main problem and the main reason why I gave the book only 3.5 stars is because of how she DIDN'T react to finding out about her friends and their "deal." I know she isn't an overacting confrontational type character, but still, I wanted some kind of reaction.

It bothered me too, but I liked just about everything else about the book so I figured I'd let it slide.

I love comments! So don't hesitate to share your thoughts. Leave your blog/website name and link so I can get back to you. And if you're a new follower, tell me. Note that this is an award-free zone. I loved getting awards and I was pleased you guys thought I was special, but I was nominated so many times and it took a lot of time to do the award posts, time that I don't have. So thanks, but no thanks.
Happy reading!
