It was sweet. At least, that's the first thing that comes to mind after having read this book. Liam is a sweet guy, a good guy who's made some bad choices. And yes, those choices had some big consequences, but no one really knows what's going to happen in their future and what their decisions will do.

I also think this book is sad. For a kid to go nine years without knowing their dad must suck. My dad when I was that small was always the person who I could tackle to the ground and 'wrestle.' We would have pillow fights end I would end up laughing hysterically while my dad tickled me. I cannot fathom not having that. Though I suppose if you don't know what it's like to begin with you can't really miss it.

Long story short this guy called Liam up and left college to follow his dream of playing music. He left his girlfriend and his guy friends without a backward glance. He was gone for ten years and the entire he both hated what he had done, and felt relief for pursuing what he wanted. If he had stayed I'm sure Liam and Josie would've broken up. Being miserable wouldn't have gotten them anywhere. But was happy doing what he loved, so when he saw his girl again she was the only thing missing from the perfect ever after.

The whole reason Liam goes home is because his best friend Mason dies in a car crash. He goes to attend the funeral and finds out he has a nine year old son he never knew he had. His girl is a fiance to an old school rival and everything is in shambles.

Josie was left by her boyfriend, later discovering she was pregnant. She tried to get in contact with Liam but he changed his number and his bitch of a manager tells her he doesn't know her without telling Liam that she called. Liam's parents are too classy to like 'white trash.' And a tramp at that. So Josie is left alone with only her friends and her parents to help her raise a baby.

By the time of Mason's funeral Josie is engaged to Nick, her boyfriend of six years. But she doesn't really love him. Not like she loved Liam. And their son Noah. Noah is the most chill character in the book. He rocks for a nine-year old.

This book shows that even if you mess up, you can still redeem yourself. Everyone makes mistakes. You've just got to make an effort to fix those mistakes to be deemed worthy of forgiveness. And that's what I like about this book. Liam screwed up. But he tried to fix it. and in the end he was forgiven. The ending was really sweet actually.

Synopsis:

I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after.

I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I’ve poured my soul into my music, but I’ve never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile.

And now I’m going back.

After ten years.

I hope I can explain that after all this time.

I still want her to be my forever girl.

I love comments! So don't hesitate to share your thoughts. Leave your blog/website name and link so I can get back to you. And if you're a new follower, tell me. Note that this is an award-free zone. I loved getting awards and I was pleased you guys thought I was special, but I was nominated so many times and it took a lot of time to do the award posts, time that I don't have. So thanks, but no thanks.

Happy reading!
