So I'm going to say that this is not my normal StS post. I got mainly nonfiction books for Christmas. I'm not normally a nonfiction kind of girl, but I asked for these and I'll explain why in a minute. Here is what I was given:

So - you want to be knowledgeable about British politics but don't know where to start. The rich history, complex statistics and tricky political jargon are getting in your way, not to mention the media hype (is politics only about duck houses and moats?). But don't worry! This coming May is the next election in the UK. It'll be my first time voting, but I honestly don't have a clue when it comes to British politics. So I asked my family to get me a book on it. And I guess I'll have to start watching British news now. Thank forever for the Internet. Otherwise it would be a pain, being in SK.

The cover alone is drool-worthy. And the synopsis makes it sounds like the story will be amazing. It's a promising combination. So, I'm offering to giveaway one Kindle edition of the book. I have not read the book yet, so if it sucks (I really hope it doesn't) then its totally not on me. But it looks good, so it should be fine.

And what will Máax do when he begins to suspect that not only is Ashli the key to stopping the apocalypse, but she may be "the one" he's been waiting seventy-thousand years for.

How will he save the one woman the Universe insists on killing and who wants nothing to do with him?

 I'm currently getting caught up in this series. I read the first book but didn't venture beyond that one. Now that my reviewing schedule is (mostly) free, I will get caught up on the rest of the books and hopefully make it in time for the blog tour that going to be happening with this book.

As to the reason why I am happily anticipating this book, I remember from the first one that the author has a witty style of writing that will always make you laugh. I am hoping that style of writing continues into her other books. I guess we shall see.

It's been a little crazy lately, so I apologize for the brief comments. I've been traipsing through England and Scotland, visiting family and traveling on holiday. I've been thinking of starting a feature on my blog, I'm just a little unsure as to what to do. Obviously I want something unique but bookish, and I'd only want to do it once a month.

Since I travel all over the world on a fairly regular basis, I've thought about involving that in a feature, maybe. It just needs to be bookish to involve my blog. Maybe a book for each place I've been (whether it be city, state or country) or that I want to go (I'd LOVE to go to Rio). Maybe have a book that reminds me of the country/place or is similar.

I don't know. I mean, it has to involve people and capture their interests. Do you think people would be interested and would want to participate? I mean, the bookish part would be kind of complicated. Any ideas?

 I haven't read the other books in this series. I probably should have checked if it was in a series before requesting it on NetGalley, but hey, too late now. I've been assured by fellow readers that this can be read as a standalone. No harm done :) And I can't wait to read it! If you're familiar with my taste in books, you know I love tatted up bad boys. So excited!

I love this series, but what I really want to read is an action-packed story with a little romance on the side. For instance, I recently read this book about a librarian who was really a CIA agent. It was delightful. And she had a hunky Navy SEAL boyfriend on the side. Now if only I could find more books like that...

Besides what's happened on my blog, I also went to Comic Con in London yesterday (yes, I may have forgotten to mention that I'm visiting family in England at the moment). I had no idea they had bookish things at Comic Con. I thought it was all marvel comic stuff. I love watching the Avengers and X-Men as much as the next movie-goer, but I can't say I'm all that into comics. I'm more of a novel person.

So when I came across all of the book-y things, you can imagine I was ecstatic. I probably never would have gone to Comic Con if my brother hadn't dragged me with him. 

My brother and his friend went as peacekeepers from the Hunger Games. I painted the helmets for them (I most definitely would not win any artistic awards for my ability, but my rough skills served their purpose). Another friend who came along went as Katniss, also from the Hunger Games.

I hadn't planned to go in costume at all, and didn't have time to really put one together, or I would have gone as Effie Trinket. So I just did some crazy make-up and dressed as best I could as if I were from the Capitol. Luckily I had a parasol and a fan on hand as well.

Anyways, sorry for dragging on, there was this entire section for book-related events. There were workshops (I tried to get into the blogger one, unfortunately they only had limited spaces), author signings, a place to buy books, a white board that had the tag #WeWereLiars, a giant TFIOS poster, and a table full of free swag.

This is some of the swag I picked up. I have more of it that I couldn't find a place for too :)

Of course I got tons of swag. I even bought several books and met some new authors I hadn't heard of before. As it was, I think going turned out to be a rather interesting experience. If I go again next year or find where its at in the States I've decided to go as a book character. Maybe Katsa from Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I don't know. I want a kick-ass heroine. Any ideas?

I absolutely LOVE this series. I've read some of the books before and after this one, but I can't say I was all that interested in this one. Its because in series' with books that have multiple character POV's, I usually only want to read their POV's once. But I do love Cage, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I strongly dislike the cover for this book. I've read all of the books in this series with their original covers, before they combined the books. So I detest this cover. Unfortunately, theres not much I can do about it. Though you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. So I will love this book once it comes out despite its hideous cover.
